Geography
Uganda is a landlocked country located in Eastern Africa. It is bordered by Kenya, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Tanzania. Known as the breadbasket of Eastern Africa, Uganda is a fertile, well-watered country with many lakes and rivers, including Lake Victoria and the Source of the Nile. 27.94% of its land is arable and is used to grow crops such as matooke (green plantain), cassava, potatoes, millet, sorghum, corn, beans and groundnuts. Major cash crops include coffee, cotton, tea and tobacco. Its natural resources include copper, cobalt, hydropower, limestone, salt, and gold.
Natural Attractions
When people think about African countries they often picture the Serengeti; however, Uganda's natural beauty encompasses so much more than that. The country is home to tropical rain forests, wetlands, mountainous regions and extensive savannas which house a rich and diverse array of animal and plant life.
